We went here after I had a procedure at the Foothills Hospital which is practically next door. I had been fasting for about 33 hours so I was starving… but at the same time I felt off due to the sedation I was given so I couldn’t eat very much. We ordered the Roasted Pepper Dip to start and they were really good at bringing it out right away. I was, however, surprised at how long it did take… but it was oven-baked so, I think, understandable. The naan bread tasted so good to me! I pretty much ate the hole thing myself!
Jay also ordered the Crab Cakes as an appy and they were quite good. He enjoyed them.
I ordered the Seafood Tagliatelli – I don’t think I’ve ever had this before. It was a nice change from standard pasta flavours – I quite enjoyed a different kick, with sun dried tomatoes, capers and a twist of lemon. My only issue was the bacon wasn’t cooked enough – it was too fatty. I probably only took 4 or 5 bites and was full. I took most of it home and ate it an hour later and and it was to die for (but perhaps because I was starving though LOL).
Jay got the Rotisserie Chicken with a side of macaroni and cheese. He had a good selection of sauces and sides which was neat – you can totally customize your dish how you want. He found the mac & cheese to be really spicy – awesome flavour, but too hot. The server even indicated that the dish is on the kids menu and when people order it for their kids, the servers tell them it’s really spicy and suggest they order something else. An odd way to do business I think…
Overall, we were satisfied with the meal. I wouldn’t put this place at the top of my wishlist, but for the price, the food was good.
They have a really neat dinner series occurring August to October – a four course dinner at each of their three locations in Calgary, with drinks for $200pp. More Info Here
