I didn’t really know what to expect for the evening, as it wasn’t well described in the Big Taste marketing. It was $80 pp including VQA wine, taxes and gratuity. It turned out to be a good night to wear comfortable shoes and a good idea to come hungry!
The cooking school was set up so you could wander around and try food from the different chef stations and wine sampling stations. There were a handful of tables set up around the room so you could stand and eat, some chairs along the walls, and some long tables where you could pull up a chair. You could also find a place to hang out at any of the empty kitchen prep areas that the chefs weren’t using.
SAIT chefs were preparing the food, some who’s recipes are featured in SAIT’s new cookbook called Season’s (a nice hardcover book sold for $40). You just wandered up to each station, stood in line, and helped yourself. Apparently, you could keep going back to the stations until you were stuffed… and OMG, we were stuffed! Reps from 3 different wineries were there providing samples, so again, you could keep going back to your hearts content.
The food was all sooooo delish! The only thing that would have made the evening more enjoyable would have been another couple to spend it with 🙂
Note: I bought these tickets prior to starting the Beachbody 21 Day Fix… so much for my diet today! I guess I’ll have to do two workouts tomorrow!
I don’t know the names of all the dishes… but here is some of the delicious evidence!
