I found this recipe a couple years ago – before I got my wonderful dutch oven for Christmas from Jason. I printed it and had it stored in my recipe binder until such time I could use it. This recipe is actually one of the reasons why I wanted a dutch oven! How wonderful is it to have a simple recipe for delicious home baked bread? Yum! But, don’t forget – the dough needs to sit for 12-18 hours, so it does take some forethought and planning!
The recipe is from a fellow blogger Jo Cooks… but her bread turned out much fluffier than mine (check out her post at the link below for the recipe and her photos). I’m relatively new to baking bread, so I’m still figuring it out as I go. I think I need to be more careful with the water temperature so the yeast will be happier? I loved the crunchy crust, and it was nice and moist and fluffy inside. The bread was great with butter, and even more tasty with EVOO and good quality balsamic vinegar.
Please share your comments about this bread! I’d love to know how yours turns out 🙂
Thanks go out to Jo Cooks for her No Knead Dutch Oven Crusty Bread recipe!
