Wow.
So this was my first time at Teatro and I want to go back. The restaurant is beautiful and the food the three of us had was all truly enjoyable.
When they called the day before to confirm my reservation they were nice enough to ask if we had any allergies or special requests. I thought this was a nice extra touch. All I asked for was a quieter spot because the three of us wanted to be able to talk. The customer service when we arrived was thorough – they offered to take our jackets and insisted my friends’ umbrella was placed in the bin by the front desk. We were served olive bread and focaccia as filler. Yum.
Two of us had the seafood lasagna and one of us had the calamari and eggplant parmigiana. First of all, you have to know that the seafood lasagna and eggplant parmigiana are made to order and baked – don’t order them if you’re in a hurry. Also, the seafood lasagna is not cheap… at $39 a pop you need to be committed – especially for lunch! But, it was awesome – full of seafood – with a large scallop and prawn on top surrounded by homemade marinara sauce, and filled with lobster and small scallops with a lobster bechamel sauce… all topped with cheese and baked. Oh boy.
I snuck a bit of the calamari and aioli and it was awesome – crispy and light. In my mind, it’s how I think calamari should be. My friend said the eggplant parmigiana was delicious!
I look forward to returning!
