After a round of golf at this really nice golf course south of Calgary, we headed to the lounge for a beer and lunch before heading back to town. There is an awesome view across the small valley from the patio, and you can even see downtown from here!
The golf course has two dining options – a fine dining restaurant called Siraia open for dinner only Thursday through Sunday and for brunch on Sunday. We went to Ibby’s Lounge for lunch on a Friday.
Jason had the Chef’s Burger for $17 with a house ground patty, brioche bun, greens, tomato, fried egg, smoked cheddar, bacon, caramelized onion jam, hot mustard and burger sauce. It was awesome! I had the Beef & Shroom Dip for $16 with slow roasted beef, wild mushrooms, sweet bacon onion confit, swiss cheese on a baguette with veal jus. The sandwich had great flavour, but I thought it could use more beef. Jay had the regular french fries and I had the yam fries – both were great. Light and crispy and well-seasoned, and the dip that came with the yam fries was obviously homemade. It tasted like chipotle, pickles, and mustard – a unique combination that tasted great with the yam fries.
I really want to head back to try Siraia, even though it’s about 45 minutes from our house. If you’re open for a drive in the country, check out the restaurant at this golf course, even if you’re not a golfer!
