This was my first time to Murrieta’s. Their upstairs patio always intrigued me as I walked past it on Stephen Ave. This was a business lunch, and I had made a reservation. We were seated in the section of the restaurant with a very large, bright skylight. It was awesome to have so much natural light, but there was an odd discrepancy between the ‘cold’ light in that part of the restaurant compared to the ‘warm’ light in the rest of the restaurant. There’s quite a nice ambiance in the restaurant, although I thought that our table was pretty close to the one beside us. Service was very friendly and thorough, and our lunches came out in decent time. It wasn’t too loud in the restaurant, so it was easy to hold a conversation without yelling (thank you!!).
Both of us ordered the cobb salad, and I added chicken (for an extra $4, about $1 a piece). It was an awesome salad (even though it was $20)! I would totally order it again… the dressing was perfect, the butter lettuce was tender, and it had bacon, tomatoes, avocado, egg, cucumbers, goat cheese… mmmmm… (I declined the kalamata olives because they make me gag!). The chicken was well seasoned so it added some great additional flavour. I left satisfied (not stuffed, but certainly not hungry).
I look forward to returning to try more menu items!
