I made this bread to go with the Carrot Dill Soup. I was pretty excited for it! I mean, how can one go wrong with cheese and bacon in a loaf of bread? But, here’s the thing… it was a busy day – grocery shopping, cleaning, Jay’s parents came to visit, and I made lemon poppy seed quick bread (from a box, just like the commercial!), this bread, and I did a bunch of prep for the soup and the beet salad. Anyways… long story short – I thought I was doing a fine job until I realized too late that I forgot to include the cheese!
The recipe is from an old Kraft Canada magazine, and it can be found on their website now. I really want to make it again, with the cheese! It actually turned out well without the cheese, as simply a bacon and chive (green onion) bread, just in case you’re not a cheese person!
